Visiting Washington D.C. during the summer of 2010? Then the Dine Golden restaurant specials can save money on eating out.

In a city where power lunches and fancy dinners are a normal way of life, one expects the food to be good in Washington, D.C. This is especially true in an area known as the Golden Triangle that stretches from the White House to Washington Circle to Dupont Circle. Unfortunately it can also be expensive, with many of the city's finest offering up menus priced beyond the budget of some travelers.

Savvy vacationers, however, can take advantage of a summer restaurant promotion called “Dine Golden - Park Golden” that starts Thursday, July 1 and runs until August 14, 2010.

Under the terms of the promotion, many of D.C.'s finest restaurants are offering special "buy one, get one free" deals for dinner seatings reserved for 5 p.m. or later.

Over 25 restaurants within the Golden Triangle area are participating in the "Dine Golden" promotion. However, while the deal is "buy-one, get-one free," not all of the restaurants are focusing strictly on entrees, like Aroma Restaurant, Blackfinn American Saloon and Mezza Luna are.

Some, like Cafe Soleil, Luigi's Famous Restaurant and Madhatter are offering free appetizers.

Others, like The Bombay Club, Elephant and Castle Pub & Restaurant, and The Oval Room are offering free desserts.

To sweeten the deal, the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID), which spearheaded this summer promotion, has also arranged $5 flat rate parking from 5 p.m. until midnight on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. That alone is a great deal as parking in the Golden Triangle usually starts at that much per hour.

To Participate in the Promotion

To take advantage of the offers, simply pick the restaurant, make a reservation and then ask the server, once at the restaurant and seated, for this promotion.

The Golden Triangle BID website has a full listing of all participating restaurants, the deal offered and contact information. The site even has a map showing the locations of the restaurants and parking garages.

A wide variety of cuisines are represented, and there’s no limit to the number of times one can take advantage of the dining deals offered during this promotion.

While the total amount saved depends on where one chooses to dine and the exact offerings of that restaurant, the "Dine Golden - Park Golden" promotion offers a chance for travelers on a budget to experience some of Washington, D.C.'s best eateries, alongside the locals. So be sure to take advantage of this promotion while it's available.
